What are the differences between MeSTI, GMP & HACCP?
MeSTI certification is one of the Food Safety Assurance Program (PJKM) by the Malaysian Ministry of Health to help food product operators, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to produce clean and safe products for consumers.

According to Food Hygiene Regulation 2009, every food manufacturing business shall hold a Food Security Assurance Program. Hence, this certification is compulsory for the organization that didn’t have any other Food Safety Management System such as GMP & HACCP in place.

GMP is set of rules, codes and guidelines that govern the operating conditions in food premises that enable safe food production.

GMP evaluates the suitability of critical areas of your food manufacturing business – factory location,  machines and equipment, production process, sanitation system, maintenance and cleaning routines, and personnel hygiene.

HACCP is a systematic and preventive approach to identify and control chemical, physical and biological hazards throughout the processing point in the food product production process.

Based on the hazards identified, critical control limits will be established at critical control points during the food production process.
