It is common for clients that have tight timeframes (eg. tenders due) would want to get their company ISO certified within a short time period. If you’re looking for fast-track ISO application, good news to you, fast ISO 9001 Certification is possible. However, there are some pre-requisite conditions that need to be fulfilled to make a fast ISO 9001 certification a possibility in 10 days.
Pre-requisite conditions:
- Processes must be relatively simple – not overly complicated.
- The Senior Leadership Team must be completely committed to customer focus, quality management, achieving certification, and continuous business improvement.
- The company must be relatively small in size. Ideally, fewer than 20 employees.
- The company should only operate from one location. A ten-day timeframe would be impossible for a national company with multiple locations.
- Employees must respond to any information requests from the ISO 9001 Consultant in a timely manner. This may include reviewing and approving documentation as well as updating relevant registers/documentation with new information.
- The Certification Body will be required to conduct a back-to-back audit, which means performing the Stage 1 and Stage 2 ISO 9001 audits concurrently. To do so, the Certification Body must have complete confidence in the ISO Consultant’s ability to design the management system to meet both the business and ISO 9001 requirements without non-conformities.
- The Certification Body will need to have an auditor available on short notice who can conduct the audit of the management system.
10 day fast-tracked certification timeline:
The timeline shown below is an example of how to achieve ISO 9001 certification in ten days if the above conditions are met. Schedule of days:

- 2 & 3 Quality Management System documentation development
- 4 Documentation review and amendment as required
- 5 Implementation
- 6 Internal audit and management review
- 7 Internal audit reporting and action outstanding items identified
